EMF Meter is a magnetic field measurement app published by Clearforge Studio. This page explains what data the app uses, why, and what choices you have.
Publisher and contact: Clearforge Studio — [email protected].
1. What the app keeps on your phone
Your settings (unit, sensitivity, smoothing, alerts, skin) and the calibration reference are stored only on your device. If you bought Premium, your session history (duration, maximum, peaks, charts, and the notes and names you add) is also stored in a local database. EMF Meter has no user account and sends no measurement to our servers: we have no access to it.
You can delete a session or the whole history from the app. Uninstalling the app deletes all local data.
2. The sensor and what we do not collect
The app reads your phone's magnetometer to compute the magnetic field. These measurements are processed on the device. The app does not access your location, camera, microphone or contacts, and we do not ask for your name or email address. We use no analytics or crash-reporting tool that identifies you. The flashlight shortcut turns on the device's flash: it takes no photo or video.
3. Android permissions
The app uses: network access (for purchases and, where applicable, advertising), Google Play billing (for purchases), vibration (for optional alerts), and keeping the screen on during a session. No sensitive permission is requested. The advertising ID permission is declared because of the advertising module described below.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
For users who have not bought Premium, the app may show a banner ad only on the History and Settings screens, never on the detector, during a session or on the Premium screen. There are no interstitial ads. If no ad is configured in your version, the ad module is not initialized.
In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your consent (Google UMP form) before loading an ad, and you can change this choice at any time in settings. Ads are not personalized and no measurement or session data is sent. To display the ad, Google AdMob may process the device's advertising ID, the IP address and technical information about the device and app: see Google's policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads).
5. In-app purchases (Google Play, RevenueCat)
The app offers a one-time Premium purchase and optional tips, which unlock nothing. Payments are handled by Google Play: we never see or keep your payment details.
We use RevenueCat to check that a purchase is active and to restore it, for example on a new device. RevenueCat receives an anonymous ID generated by the app, your purchase history and the usual technical information of a network request (for example the IP address, the app version and the device model), but not your name, your email or your measurements. See RevenueCat's policy.
6. Export and sharing
The CSV export of a session (Premium) is created on your phone. It is only sent when you choose to share it, through Android's share sheet: we do not receive it, and once shared, the file is out of our control. When the app opens a link (this page, Google Play or your email app), it opens in your browser or another app: we receive nothing from that exchange.
7. Limits of the tool
EMF Meter is an indicative, uncertified tool: it only measures variations of the magnetic field, gives no medical or safety advice and does not detect ghosts or spirits.
8. Age
EMF Meter is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Legal basis and retention
Measurements and sessions stay on your device and are not sent to the publisher. Legal basis (GDPR): processing of purchase data is based on the performance of the contract (providing and restoring what you bought); advertising is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Retention: local data is kept as long as you wish and deleted by you, or when you uninstall. Data processed by Google and by RevenueCat is kept according to their own policies, linked above.
10. Your rights
Because we do not keep personal data on our servers, there is no account to delete. For any question or request about your data (access, erasure, objection), write to [email protected]. For data processed by Google or RevenueCat, you can also contact them directly.
11. Changes
We may update this page, for example if the app changes. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
